Some examples of proactive planning include:

Listed Buildings
The National Heritage List for England (NHLE) is the only official, up to date, register of all nationally protected historic buildings and sites in England – listed buildings, scheduled monuments, protected wrecks, registered parks and gardens, and battlefields.
Binfield House
A statement of significance has been undertaken on Binfield House and its grounds. This could be used to guide any future changes to the site or its setting.
Local Listings
Local listing is the means by which Bracknell Forest Council, working in consultation with others, can identify local heritage assets and identify those buildings and structures that contribute to the local character and distinctiveness of the Borough.
These buildings and structures, once selected, will not have the same statutory protection as listed buildings but inclusion on the local list designates a building or structure as a heritage asset, and ensures that their significance is taken into account when assessing planning proposals or applications for development.
The ‘Recommended’ and ‘Non-Recommended’ lists for Binfield can be found at Bracknell Forest Council’s Adoption of a Local List of Buildings and Structures of Local Architectural Interest.
To search or apply for a listing go to Historic England.
